The Brunnenhof inserted by Duke Maximilian I in the Munich Residenz. The fountain was not originally there. It was located at the cattle market in front of the home of the Duke Ferdinand. The Fountain went in 1608 into the possession of Maximilian I when Duke Ferdinand died. The original equestrian statue on top of the fountain, it was Ferdinand, was removed and a knight statue from the Tomb Wilhelm V was mounted. Then the statue was renamed to Otto I (First Duke of the House of Wittelsbach) and the new residence fountain was finished.
